Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted from your pores and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix, no water based product can ';clean'; your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. So this is basically how this oil works. It's composition is such that the skin accepts it as a healing oil and it does not clog your skin but rather protects it while the plant extracts inside go down into the pores (this absorption is made possible by applying the toner to the skin before applying the oil and then applying the dabs of oil over your moistened face), it then penetrates into the pores.

Use lemon. Take a lemon, cut a slice, and apply to blackheads. Most importantly, make sure the blackheads are getting lots of the lemon juice. Wash face with warm water more often. Also, you can take the pore with the blackhead and squeeze the dirty stuff out. That works, just squeeze it hard.

If that doesn't work, you could try a benzoyl peroxide cream (usually no stronger than 5%), but you also need to make sure that you are using a good quality oil-free moisturizer on your face at least once a day because if your skin is over-dried it will make extra oil that will then make your blackheads worse. That is what happened to me when I used benzoyl peroxide--so I'd recommend the salicylic acid and see what happens. Give it at least a couple weeks of regular use, though, to get the full effects before deciding to try something stronger.

Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness. FYI.. DON'T use the apricot scrub. I am a makeup artist, and I know that apricot scrub is extremely rough on skin, and is a cheap way to slough off dead skin. If your looking for a blackhead cure, your never going to get permanent results because once your pores get enlarged (i'm not talking about when your in the hot shower and the humidity causes it) they never change in size. You can reduce the look of them by using certain creams that you can find at makeup counters, but a quick fix would probably be a Biore strip. But I've used them and it seems like they are cleaning, but they are jsut taking away the surface dirt. The real dirt is still inside. Try to get a good cleanser and toner, look around and sample them at different make-up counters. A cleanser is what cleans the skin at night, dirt or makeup, and a toner is used after the skin is cleansed, and takes off remaining dirt , and helps skin regain its normal pH so skin doesn't get too oily or dry. Then if that doesn't work, try a gentle scrub. Clinique is a good start if you want good stuff on a decent budget. They have packages with them all in one.Is there a mask that takes away blackheads?? Do not pick at it or try to scrub or force it out. You need a chemical exfoliant. It will get inside the pore and loosen the binding agents from within, clearing it out safely and effectively.
The only thing I have found to work is Paula's Choice 2% BHA.

All other Salicycic products have the wrong PH and have alcohol or menthol which will irritate your skin and inflame the pore, causing more breakouts. Homemade Blackheads Remedy:
Take one tablespoon black pepper powder and add to it enough curd to make thick paste. Apply on the infected area and let it dry. Wash off after 5-7 minutes. This is an effective cure for blackheads or to get rid of blackheads.
The benzol peroxide helps to soften the blackheads with the oxygen it contains.
An ideal mask that extracts dirt and oil from clogged pores can be made by using orange peel and youghurt. It also opens up the clogged pores that cause acne and blackheads. Take 2 tablespoons of orange peel powder and add 4 tablespoons of yoghurt to make a paste. Apply all over the face, while gently rubbing in circular motion. Wash off with cold water. An excellent way to prevent clogged pores and keep the skin clean and healthy.
Another effective remedies for blackhead is to mix two teaspoons soda bicarbonate with three cups of boiled water. Steam a towel in this and place the towel on face. Repeat this around five to six times a day.
Make a paste by mixing one teaspoon curd and one teaspoon of rice flour. Rub this paste on the area of blackheads and on getting dry, wash it off with cold water.
Just apply toothpaste dry directly on to the problem area then let it stay on for at least 25 minutes. Nasty blackheads all over face?

Use about 6 uncoated tablets, witch hazel, tee trea oil, and aloe to make a thin paste.
For toner:

You can buy Clearasil pore scrub stuff but a classic thing to do is use toothpaste. If you put some toothpaste where the spots are and leave it for about 10 Min's (this will sting like crazy) then wash your face thoroughly it should absorb all the grease out of the pores. i use noxzema cirtis scrup, then the blackhead clenser, then the clean and clear warming daily pore scrub, and then use the oxy daily wash in maximum stregnth. and the the biore pore unclogging scrub. i do this every night in the shower. for the morning, i use one of the products, and alternate between them every day, usually the one i have more of. for a miosturiser, i use the clean and clear morning glow, at night and in the morning (but it hasa shimmer to it so it might not work for a guy to wear it in day, instead try the olay beauty fluid, the pink stuff). also, on occasion use the biore nose and forehead/chin strips, and the olay daily facials, as well as a clay mask, noxzema makes a good one, but i prefer to use vics vapor rub, smear it on the face, avoiding the eyes and mouth, and leave on for a while - it may sting or give this cool burning sensation, and cause the eyes to water, as well as clear the sinuses, but trust me, it clears the skin (once or twice a week). my brother uses the pads made by oxy that have alcohol on them, and they make a difference on him, but have no efect on me. what also helps is to use a clean towel every time you wash your face, so i reccomend using a fresh papertowel every time.
all this for me pretty much takes care of my oily skin, takes care of black heads, and realy minimizes break outs (less frequent and not as bad). also, more water, and healthy juices, and less to none sodas, and salty snacks, the really make a difference. be sure to wash your face at least twice a day, and it would be bset if you do after any activity, such as sports, that causes you to sweat that way you can get rid of the dirt and oil when the pores are open. by following this regime, you should be able to see a diffence by two weeks latest.

Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted from your pores and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix, no water based product can ';clean'; your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. So this is basically how this oil works. It's composition is such that the skin accepts it as a healing oil and it does not clog your skin but rather protects it while the plant extracts inside go down into the pores (this absorption is made possible by applying the toner to the skin before applying the oil and then applying the dabs of oil over your moistened face), it then penetrates into the pores.

Toothpaste does work. But if you are you going to buy acne products, use one that has at least a 2% salytic acid.

I'm a guy too, so this is a little un-many but if you don't tell anyone no one will know. You can get facial scrubs (to us simple blokes) its soap with sand in it.
It helps get rid of blackheads (Or at least does with me) and also makes your skin look good. And you don't smell like a tarts knickers afterwards.
Also, if you get a big one and you pop it and it goes sore you can put a little blob of toothpaste on it. And this will dry it out and reduce swelling. Ice does the trick too but feels like crap.

I would suggest trying the Proactiv system. I have been using it for over a year and a half and my skin looks about 75% better. Also, make sure the products you use on your skin (makeup, moisturizer, etc.) are oil free and non-comedogenic. Unfortunately you cannot change your pore size; however, you can make your pores less visible through microdermabrasion. You can get this procedure done at a medical spa or you can purchase a microdermabrasion product (such as Neutrogena) at the drug store. Good luck.

I know this sounds random.. but if you are going to the beach anytime soon, saltwater from the ocean will fix all of the for you! For some reason, it gets rid of blackheads and makes your pores smaller.

Does Proactive help fight against blackheads?
Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser and warming facial scrub every morning. And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working!
