so on this home remedies website it said combining lemon juice and ground cinnamon and applying that mixture to my face could get rid of blackheads so i tried it and when i put it on my nose my skin started to burn and get irritated so i washed it off and it did help a little but the area that i put it on is like red compared to the rest of my skin and its not going away and im going out soon!! You shouldn't put lemon juice in your face, it's only going to burn. If you want to make the red less noticeable try to put facial cream to appease the burning area and, you can always put foundation.

Well for now I would put on some cover up, but that mixture probably really irritated your skin. I wouldn't put lemon juice on my face. You should the biore strips, and just get a face wash for blackheads and use it everyday. I also wash my face throughout the day to help keep it clean, it helps to keep most of the dirt from actually seeping into pores
You can put concealer on. I once tried the home remedy thing and it didn't work for me. You should try Biore, the deep cleansing pore strips, which worked great for me. Next time though, don't try anything like that before leaving the house. Always do that sometime before you go to bed

I have actually used one of those before. For me, it didn't work, but it seems to be different for everyone. If I were you, I would go ahead and try one more time, but not for as long as you had it on the last time. Just put it on for a little less time that it says to put on, and see how it looks.
If that doesn't work, check the ingredients because it could be something that is in the patch that your skin could be sensitive to, or that you are allergic to.

In my experience, they work well but oil builds up and oxidizes again naturally, so blackheads will come back. Since blackheads are caused when oil oxidizes, I would recommend using a gentle exfoliating scrub once a week to minimize oil that gets clogged in pores. I hope that helps! P.S. I agree that the Biore strips do work really great, but they were a bit painful. You could also use Clean %26amp; Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub. Its a mild face soap with microbeads that scrub away those pesky blackheads and also exfoliates, lifting away dirt and oil....hope that helps!!

The best way to keep blackheads at a minimum would be to exfoliate regularly as well as cleansing, toning and moisturising twice a day, morning and night, to keep the skin surface free from free radicals!
Also if you are very prown to them try using a primer under your make-up to build a barrier between the make-up and the open pores!
If you want you can gentally put pressure on the area to remove the blackhead, hold a warm compress on the area for a minute to open the pores and a cold one after to close the pores. Never dip your nails in or use to much force this will cause more damage.

I had a big black head right in the middle of my nose. I've just got it out really easily, but now i have an big open pore. Get a good exfoliator with very very fine grains. and use that then your mask. Should take care of the problem within a week or two depending how bad your blackheads are.

It will stink, look funny, and feel gross/slimy putting on, but the egg white will shrink your pores to allow less dirt to get into them and the lemon juice works as an acid to clean them out. rinse your face with Luke warm water after about 10 min or until you can't take the feeling on your skin when the white dries. It will shrink and maybe cause you to itch. Wash your face again if you feel the need. Pat your face dry.
try this Combine 1/4 cup boiling water with one teaspoon of Epsom salt and three drops of iodine.
Let mixture cool until it's comfortable to the touch.
Saturate a cotton ball with this mixture and dab on blackheads.
This will allow them to loosen so they can be easily squeezed with a gauze pad. I know it sounds gross but worked for my friend.

i agree with the nose strips and the steaming, doing both give u the maximum effect if u steam ur face b4 the nose strips it opens up the pores so when u apply the strip its allowed to grab more than when apply to normal pores, and they wont keep coming back if u use the nose strip sum might be difficult but once their pulled out it will take a while for the dirt and oils to build up from the bottom again, and also try using clean and clear black head control exfoliator which will totally help keep them away and evry now and then put acne medication from ur drug store with benzoyl in it to keep control of the bacteria that buids up

Yes, WASH your face daily. Masks and exfoliating will take them away,but the really bad black heads the masks will only shrink them. Masks make your pores smaller as well. I use mine twice a week because I have large pores. AVOID pore strips like biore . those make your pores larger and you will hate the long term effect, huge pores. believe me, I made the mistake unfortunately.I use to use them alot. Get a good exfoliator with very very fine grains. and use that then your mask. Should take care of the problem within a week or two depending how bad your blackheads are.

It will shrink and maybe cause you to itch. Wash your face again if you feel the need. Pat your face dry.

Let mixture cool until it's comfortable to the touch.
Saturate a cotton ball with this mixture and dab on blackheads.

So, start with a liquid foundation. Nothing too thick or cakey as that will just settle around the zits. ';Smooth Operator'; by Tarte is a great one. Try to use foundation in a sanitary tube if possible, rather than bottles with twisty caps. It's more sanitary.
Aveda makes a great liquid concealer in a tube, and Lorac does a good cream concealer in a pot. Drug store brands are usually strange colours. Try to go to a Sephora or equivalent so you can try everything on.
Finally, go see a dermatologist. Don't put it off. In the long run this is better value than any makeup you can ever slap on your face and will do wonders for your confidence. The birth-control pill Yasmin and certain blends of erythromycin did wonders for me.Pimples and Blackheads?

Use a good exfoliating scrub on your face.
(an excellent exfoliate is baking soda mixed with a little mild face wash) then steam your face with a very warm washcloth or over hot water using a towel for a tent.

This should do it...
Step 1: Use a mild scrub to exfoliate your skin.
Step 2: Apply benzol peroxide to the blackhead prone areas.
Step 3: Apply the bentonite/vinegar mask.
Bentonite is a powerful ';toxin sponge';. It attracts and literally ';sucks'; toxins and impurities out of your skin. It's been used for ages as both an external and an internal purifier.
To make the bentonite/vinegar mask you're going to need Aztec Secrets Indian Healing Clay and apple cider vinegar.
Add a few tablespoons of Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay to a bowl. Then slowly add and mix in the apple cider vinegar until you get a smooth pasty consistency. The vinegar and bentonite will ';foam'; a bit when you first combine them, but the foaming will subside quickly.
Add enough vinegar so that you get a pasty consistency but not too runny.
Cover your face with a thin layer of the clay.
Let dry.
Rinse off after the mask is dry.
Step 4: Apply egg whites, aloe vera, and healing essential oils.
Mix an egg white with aloe vera gel and a few drops of lavender essential oil.

Use a good exfoliating scrub on your face.
(an excellent exfoliate is baking soda mixed with a little mild face wash) then steam your face with a very warm washcloth or over hot water using a towel for a tent.
This will open your pores up, then use biore' blackhead strips.

Those black head removing stips (Biore makes some) really work quite well if you just need to concentrate on a certain area. This of course goes along with a good exfoliator and cleanser.

This should do it...
Step 1: Use a mild scrub to exfoliate your skin.
Step 2: Apply benzol peroxide to the blackhead prone areas.
Step 3: Apply the bentonite/vinegar mask.
Bentonite is a powerful ';toxin sponge';. It attracts and literally ';sucks'; toxins and impurities out of your skin. It's been used for ages as both an external and an internal purifier.
To make the bentonite/vinegar mask you're going to need Aztec Secrets Indian Healing Clay and apple cider vinegar.
Add a few tablespoons of Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay to a bowl. Then slowly add and mix in the apple cider vinegar until you get a smooth pasty consistency. The vinegar and bentonite will ';foam'; a bit when you first combine them, but the foaming will subside quickly.
Add enough vinegar so that you get a pasty consistency but not too runny.
Cover your face with a thin layer of the clay.
Let dry.

Stubborn blackheads on my nose any help?
i have quite a few blackheadds on my nose are there any natural ways (using stuff that ive probably got at home) or products that i can buy (preferably cheap and from boots or superdrug ,, or somthing like that0

The girl above is correct. Though you could squeeze them out yourself, it could do more harm than good unless shown how to properly do it. You could cause bruising around your nose. See an esthetician and follow these steps inbetween:

Get a professional facial....I was given very good advice at my first one. I was told to massage my nose when I'm in the shower. When I'm all done, I squeeze gently on the ones that have come to surface. If your like me, the blackheads had been there for years, so it takes patience and time for it to get better. There are great products too...that is why I recommended asking a professional.

Unusual blackheads...any dermatologists on here?
I have blackheads on my nose, but they are not the kind that respond to Biore or anything I have found...they are not really clogged pores....my esthetician cannot remove them during a facial...its like the dead skin and dirt that causes the dark color thinly coats the inside of the pore instead of making a big glob that can be removed. my pores are neither large nor small. I heard that chemical peels actually make your pores larger. I'm young with fairly sensitive skin so I don't want to get any hardcore resurfacing. What do I do? I eat a VERY clean diet. For body (not the face) best thing that worked cause I have the same problem (this is going to sound crazy) is ground coffee, preferably dry or you can use old used coffee grinds (not instant) and bring it in the shower. Wet your legs with water then take a pinch full and in circular motions (not straight) rub it around and around for a minute or so. Do this every item you shower and it makes legs soooooooo soft, incredible! Alsomost toners are like 98% rubbing alcohol and water, so after my shower (once my legs are dry) I take rubbing alcohol and apply it liberally to your legs and problem areas (soak it) then let it dry on it's own, should help thin the skin and dry out a bit.
I looked for over 8 years for a product against blackheads.
Clarins has an awesome line, for night time you need the toner and oil, its a special oil that dissolves blackheads (for real) and cleans your face overnight of impurities. Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix no water based product can ';clean'; your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. This oil also dries up the pimples and the black heads all the way down. I recommend using it for 6-8 weeks then going for a facial (cost maybe 25$) and ask for a facial specializing in black head removal/extraction or you can look it up online, how to steam first and all and yes using a tissue paper not your fingernails really is better, I know cause now I have little brown spots and acne scars from years of picking with nails, tissue forms a little barrier so that the sharp edge of your nails doesn't cut the thin outer cell layer.
As to what soap to use, I'm not sure what to answer, Clarins has it's line, the gommage is excellent and addictive (I am addicted to Clarins Bright Plus Gentle Brightening Exfoliator, full size is 50 mL, 1.9Oz., lasts 2 months when used twice a week, use sparingly).
You can find it cheaper on eBay as it is a bit pricey in stores. Here is the name: Oil: CLARINS Lotus Face Treatment Oil Combo SKIN 1.4oz/40ml will last forever , you put toner on your face first, when your face is still moist you put 4 drops of oil (one on each finger, you only need a teeny bit) then rub your finger tips together on other hand and after a few secs of rubbing use your finger tips to dab it on top of your moist skin... just be careful not to put more than 4-6 small drops of oil and that your face is wet from toner and to dab it over not rub. Toner: NEW Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris OILY Skin Toner 200mL.
The body shop also has an awesome mattifying moisturizing tea oil face gel.
Also only use non-comedogenic products (These products are less likely to cause blackheads (open comedones) or whiteheads (closed comedones)), it will be normally written in small on the label if they are non-comedogenic.
For extraction you may want to read up on black head extractor, it's a little tool with two loops, one on each side, one for black heads one for white heads. There are many online sites that explain the use.
Steaming your face first will help TREMENDOUSLY. To steam, put very hot water in a bucket or big bowl (you can add herbs, long lists of what is good online), then put your face over the bowl (not too close!) and cover your head with a towel, making a little ';tent'; and enclosing all the steam inside. This will allow the pores to open, making the blackheads just slide out with a little pressure. I wouldn't recommend putting on make-up for 12 hours after extraction, but you could definitely use the Clarins night regime I described earlier.

For body (not the face) best thing that worked cause I have the same problem (this is going to sound crazy) is ground coffee, preferably dry or you can use old used coffee grinds (not instant) and bring it in the shower. Wet your legs with water then take a pinch full and in circular motions (not straight) rub it around and around for a minute or so. Do this every item you shower and it makes legs soooooooo soft, incredible! Alsomost toners are like 98% rubbing alcohol and water, so after my shower (once my legs are dry) I take rubbing alcohol and apply it liberally to your legs and problem areas (soak it) then let it dry on it's own, should help thin the skin and dry out a bit.

Clarins has an awesome line, for night time you need the toner and oil, its a special oil that dissolves blackheads (for real) and cleans your face overnight of impurities. Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix no water based product can ';clean'; your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. This oil also dries up the pimples and the black heads all the way down. I recommend using it for 6-8 weeks then going for a facial (cost maybe 25$) and ask for a facial specializing in black head removal/extraction or you can look it up online, how to steam first and all and yes using a tissue paper not your fingernails really is better, I know cause now I have little brown spots and acne scars from years of picking with nails, tissue forms a little barrier so that the sharp edge of your nails doesn't cut the thin outer cell layer.
As to what soap to use, I'm not sure what to answer, Clarins has it's line, the gommage is excellent and addictive (I am addicted to Clarins Bright Plus Gentle Brightening Exfoliator, full size is 50 mL, 1.9Oz., lasts 2 months when used twice a week, use sparingly).
You can find it cheaper on eBay as it is a bit pricey in stores. Here is the name: Oil: CLARINS Lotus Face Treatment Oil Combo SKIN 1.4oz/40ml will last forever , you put toner on your face first, when your face is still moist you put 4 drops of oil (one on each finger, you only need a teeny bit) then rub your finger tips together on other hand and after a few secs of rubbing use your finger tips to dab it on top of your moist skin... just be careful not to put more than 4-6 small drops of oil and that your face is wet from toner and to dab it over not rub. Toner: NEW Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris OILY Skin Toner 200mL.
The body shop also has an awesome mattifying moisturizing tea oil face gel.
Also only use non-comedogenic products (These products are less likely to cause blackheads (open comedones) or whiteheads (closed comedones)), it will be normally written in small on the label if they are non-comedogenic.
For extraction you may want to read up on black head extractor, it's a little tool with two loops, one on each side, one for black heads one for white heads. There are many online sites that explain the use.

To steam, put very hot water in a bucket or big bowl (you can add herbs, long lists of what is good online), then put your face over the bowl (not too close!) and cover your head with a towel, making a little ';tent'; and enclosing all the steam inside. Apparently it only takes 4 minutes for pores to open and any time between 4-8 minutes is good. Make sure you thoroughly wash skin before starting the steam . This will allow the pores to open, making the blackheads just slide out with a little pressure. After you have finished extracting, rewash your face (very gently as some pores may have been damaged during extraction), finish off with cold water to close your pores, apply some toner and if you have dry skin then apply a light moisturizer. I wouldn't recommend putting on make-up for 12 hours after extraction, but you could definitely use the Clarins night regime I described earlier.

ok, i have tried just about all the usual stuff for blackheads; scrubs, putting hot wash clothes over my face, salasilic acid washes, etc. nothing really keeps the blackheads out. they spring up ALL over my face and it's pretty much impossible to get rid of them. even if i get them out, they end up coming back in a day or two. i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. anyway, what is the best at home ingredient or rememdy (something i can do maybe once a week.) scrubs, lemon juice, anything! there HAS to be something! anyone have suggestions?Weekly at-home routine for keeping blackheads out??

get some ELMERS GLUE...and put a coat on top of your nose...thick enough where its white...and let it dry then peel it off it works just as good maybe better then the nose strips!

those biore pore strips are really great, but other than that i squeeze them and the little sucker pops right out. that is the only solution. o and when squeezing, don't be afraid to dig in, a light sqeeze with your finger tips won't do anything. you have to squeeze with the tip of your finger nails. and the biore strips are great too because they get out all the nasty bacteria that was about to become a full-blown blackhead, so you should try them. blackheads used to be a big problem for me, but now i'm blackhead free. o and WASH YOUR FACE!! twice daily. this is very important to keep your face clean.How do YOU get rid of blackheads?

i have the EXACT same problem!! If you shave your legs try to get waxed coz thts much better for you.. and make sure you exfoliate properly.. buy a pumice stone and use it in the shower like a loofah! It really helps..! i aslo suggest you dont use the tweezer on your legs at all.. coz that just makes it worse. You can also use products such as gels available to remove ingrowth's and black heads! You can buy them on amazon.. this is the one that i have and it really helped me! For your black heads use neutrogena body scrub wash.. it'll also be good for your ingrowths as it is exfoliating..Blackheads and ingrowns on legs?
I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.
